Implantable Module

One overarching goal of the project is to design and fabricate new implantable neuronal electrodes that will facilitate the bidirectional communication between the patient’s peripheral nervous system and exoprostheses/exoskeletons. The implanted neuronal electrodes will transmit neuronal signals acting as command signals for exoprostheses or exoskeletons translated into movements and will receive signals from the sensors placed on exoprostheses and exoskeletons translated into sensations for the user. This will allow unprecedented neural control of both prosthetics and paralyzed limbs, constituting an important step in medical applications.
