INEGI – Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is a Research and Technology Organisation (RTO), founded in 1986, focused on research and technology-based innovation activities, technology transfer, consulting and technological services, oriented to the development of industry and economy in general.
A non-profit, private and recognised as a public utility entity.

The main role of INEGI in NerveRepack project is to develop and implement the actuation block of the exoprosthesis. This includes integrating sensors into the palm and fingers of the device and testing the mechanical structure of the exoprosthesis to ensure its proper functionality. The entity also supports the establishment of testing protocols for evaluating the mechanical properties of the exoskeleton materials, along with their experimental validation. Furthermore, it is responsible for assembling the entire connectivity system—including wiring and electronic components—within the mechanical structure of the exoskeletons. Lastly, the entity participates in assembling and testing the sensor arrays and feedback interfaces, as well as verifying the overall functionality of the mechatronic structures.
