The National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), based in Athens, Greece, serves as a key national scientific research infrastructure in Greece. It is a premier multidisciplinary research institution dedicated to advancing knowledge across a wide range of scientific fields. Established in 1958, the NHRF fosters cutting-edge research in natural sciences, life sciences, and humanities, contributing significantly to innovation and societal development. It houses specialized research institutes, promotes international collaborations, and supports young researchers through training programs and funding initiatives. NHRF remains a key pillar of scientific excellence and cultural heritage in Greece and beyond, currently implementing over 100 research projects funded by the EC, the Greek government, public organizations, and private companies.

Project director on behalf of NHRF is dr. Theodora Katsila, ICB.

NHRF participates in the project with the Biomarker Discovery and Translational Research laboratory from ICB (Institue of Chemical Biology). We are leading the biocompatibility wet- and dry- lab pipelines for optimum design and performance.
