Delft University of Technology (TUD), NL

Delft University of Technology (TUD) is the oldest and largest university of technology in the Netherlands. The university hosts over 15000 students (14% from abroad) and employs over 2700 scientific staff members. The scientific output includes around 250 PhD dissertations and over 7000 publications in scientific journals annually. At the faculty of Electrical engineering, Mathematics and Computer Sciences the Section Bioelectronics which participates in this project is part of the Department of Microelectronics and offers a multi-disciplinary research environment with a strong interaction with the industry. The mission of the Section Bioelectronics is to provide technology for the successful monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of cortical, neural, cardiac and muscular disorders by means of bioelectronic implants. To this end, we investigate and design active implantable biomedical microsystems as applied in, e.g., hearing instruments, cardiac pacemakers, cochlear implants, portable, wearable, implantable and injectable ExG recorders and neurostimulators. Within NerveRepack, TUD is focused on the microstructuring of biocompatible electrode coatings.
