National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest represents one of the fundamental and prestigious institutions of Romanian higher education. POLITEHNICA Bucharest participates in research programs of the European Community: FP5, FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020. Our university has a rich experience in project management, currently coordinating over 700 national and 57 international research projects. The exceptional scientific results of the POLITEHNICA Bucharest have led to its inclusion in the prestigious "Top 500" ranking of universities around the world as the first Romanian university. Several laboratories and research groups from PUB will be actively involved in the project.

POLITEHNICA Bucharest participates in the project with two teams from ETTI (Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies) and IIR (Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Robotics). We are directly involved in the design and implementation of two demonstrators of the project concept: an arm prothesis and one leg exoskeleton, including the haptic feedback and the control block with AI algorithms for both devices.
Project director on behalf of UPB is prof. dr. Monica Dascălu, ETTI.

POLITEHNICA Bucharest is responsible for the design of two mechatronic structures (an arm prosthesis and a leg exoskeleton), as well as the development of the sensor interface architecture, electronic control system, and AI-based movement algorithms. The team integrates expertise in biomedical engineering, electronics, robotics, and artificial intelligence to enhance the functionality of neuroprosthetic systems within the NerveRepack project.
